Drink herbal teas
Medicinal herbs such as echinacea, sage and thyme strengthen your immune system and are effective against bacteria and viruses. Regular consumption prevents colds, but you should swap the herbs for other medicinal herbs after a few weeks.
Warm lemon water in the morning
A glass of warm water with lemon juice in the morning aids digestion, flushes out toxins and strengthens the immune system. Lemons are rich in vitamin C, which has an antioxidant effect and strengthens the body’s defences.
Sufficient sleep
During the night, the body not only regenerates in general, the immune system is also strengthened by restful sleep. Important repair processes take place during sleep, which boost the body’s defences. 7-9 hours of sleep per night are recommended for optimal regeneration of the body.
Incorporate garlic and ginger into your diet
Both have antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Garlic contains allicin and ginger contains pungent substances. Both successfully fight infections and are easy to incorporate into the diet. The “golden milk”, a combination of ginger, turmeric, pepper, coconut oil and milk (also with milk alternatives), is particularly recommended.
Ice bathing
For hardcore health fanatics, it is recommended to immerse yourself in cold stream or river water for 2 minutes once a week. This stimulates the body’s self-healing powers enormously and also provides an endorphin boost. For a mild form of defence boost, you can also finish off with cold water in the shower in the morning – not quite as effective, but much easier to do.
